How it all started
David Randall Silveria was born on september 21, 1972 in San leandro, California. David started drumming at the age of 9. David grew up in Bakersfield, Ca where he learned how to play drums. David was in his first band at the age of 13, with James "Munky" Shaffer, Brian "Head" Welch and Reggie "Fieldy" Arvizu. "Me, Head and Munky got together and we were looking for a drummer." Fieldy recalls, "I get this message on my machine, Davids like fuckin' 13". "I just called them, I didn't know them, but i got the number", David says. Fieldy says, "he's like 'hey guys looking for a drummer?' this little kid on my answering machine, called him back, went over his house". "They brought some amps and played with me in my garage", David says. Munky recalls, "He was like, so young, like he had to have his mom like, drop him off at practice". "It just clicked, he was good man", says Fieldy. David concludes, "I loaded up my drums that day and ummm, in the car and took it to the studio and it's been there ever since". The first band they were in together was L.A.P.D., then in Creep before Jonathan joined then later the band name was switched to KoRn. David starts a family David married (much to my dismay) Shannon Bellino in april of '97. His son David jr. was born on August 22, 1997. On July 29th 1999 David and Shannon once again welcomed a new edition to their family. A baby girl named Sofia Aurora. At present time the Silveria's reside in Huntington Beach. Other projects David is involved in His drumming skills caught the attention of Mike Muir from Suicidal Tendencies. David can be heard on the new Infectious Grooves album and the Sepultura "Roots" song. David has also done some modeling (this doesn't surprise me) for 26 Red. Their rivals Grind, signed him to a deal to do ads for them also. Recently David has appeared in the television show "Martial Law" along with Dave Navarro and Bret Michaels. He also appeared in ads for Calvin Klein. This and that
David has four tattoo's. His wifes name on his upper back, a korn
tat on his lower back, a cheshire cat on his left arm and a dude
with a drum stick through his tounge on his right arm. It is also
said that David has a penis fetish. Whenever he signs something
he draws a penis somewhere. |
